Thaumatin is a natural sweetener. It is a protein derived from plants. In America there are some concerns about the use of Thaumatin, however the concerns are related to what is known as ‘recombinant’ thaumatin. Recombinant thaumatin is genetically modified/spliced to include the proteins of more than one source. The Thaumatin used in our products is all naturally plant derived and not recombinant Thaumatin.
